Jean Taylor

Tom Taylor opened its doors in 1984 on Galisteo Street in beautiful downtown Santa Fe.  A little over a year later Tom Taylor moved into the historic La Fonda Hotel, just off the Santa Fe Plaza. Founders Tom and Jean Taylor quickly became known for their beautiful silverwork and leather expertise, as well as their custom boots. When Tom passed away the store was left in the hands of Jean and her daughter Holly.

It was Jean who transformed the store into what it is today—using her expert knowledge to connect with the finest leather and silverworkers in the country. Her own expertise in silverwork helped her to create an unforgettable collection of pieces that are at once timeless and unique.

In 2010 Jean retired, handing the store over to Kim and Philip Spiers. Jean continues to design, and her exquisite silver buckles set themselves apart through their combination of traditional Southwestern and art nouveau and art deco styles. The result is an elegant modern-equestrian look. Tom Taylor is the only store in the world where you can purchase silverwork by this exceptional artist.
