Collection: Steve Taylor

Master silversmith Steve Taylor was born in Fort Worth, Texas, and moved to a suburb of Denver at the foot of the Colorado Rockies when he was still in grade school. On frequent trips to the mountains and canyons of Colorado his father passed down the family tradition of rockhounding and an interest in geology. Steve moved back to Texas in the early 70’s where he met his mentor and started working with the material that would become an integral part of his life – sterling silver.

Steve relocated to New Mexico in 1979 and developed his unique style soon after. It all started with a pair of ear cuffs made using parallel wires; the straight lines making angles and patterns.  Steve has since created countless distinctive designs while broadening his initial, seemingly simple, concept from ear cuffs to belt buckles, bracelets, earrings, bolo ties, tip sets, and other characteristic pieces. His diverse body of work has been a staple of the Santa Fe art jewelry scene, and was exhibited at the famed Packard’s on the Plaza for 25 years before its closing.
